Parent Advocacy Training

This was a three-week program delivered in collaboration with SATE (Student Achievement Through Equity) and Parents for Diversity (P4D). It provided York Street parents with training on school advocacy. The sessions focused on helping parents advocate not only for their own children but also for other families within the education system.

Parents received a comprehensive advocacy manual to take home, participated in engaging discussions, and enjoyed breakfast together each week. Upon completion, parents were connected with Parents for Diversity for volunteer advocacy opportunities. This allowed them to build their résumés and gain references through their involvement.
