In Grade One there has been much excitement the last few weeks around the characteristics of living things and life cycles. The students have been watching in real time many metamorphic processes and having hands-on experiences writing observations and using science terminology, There are frogs growing and butterflies emerging from chrysalises in the classroom. Today Grade One released 5 butterflies into their new wild habitat in the York Street garden. It was exciting to see them fly and land in different spots on the front lawn.
