Grade One Trip to the Royal Canadian Mint

On 23rd April, Grade One visited the Canadian Royal Mint as part of their Financial Literacy Math unit on money. Students enjoyed lifting a gold bar, seeing how the coins are manufactured, observing the changes in money over time and learning about the most expensive coins ever made. We are grateful to the Mint for a generous gifted visit and hope to continue this partnership in future years. We are incredibly lucky at York Street to have so many wonderful historic attractions, museums and places of interest within walking distance of our school, a definite perk of being in Lowertown.
