From September to November, York's Senior Band members (Grade 8s) worked with Lisgar's Junior Band (Grade 9/10) to learn, perfect, and record their own version of Jeremy and Jazzy's "You Can Be Anything". 

On October 28, the band headed to Lisgar to record their final version with Lisgar's Music Department Head, Ms. Lani Sommers, and the Lisgar Band. The York band was thrilled to collaborate with several former "Yorkies" who are now in the Lisgar Band.

Last week, the final video was put together by Lisgar's Videography club (with input from our kindergarten students!) and submitted to the CBC Music Challenge, an annual national competition for school bands to compete in. Well done York Street and Lisgar bands and Kinders!
